As we know that a villian is as important to the story as the protagonist and same goes for Indian TV. And playing an antagonist is no cake walk as it requires equal or some times more amount of conviction to make people 'hate' you.
So let's have a look at some male actors from current popular Indian TV shows who are slaying in the antagonist avatar.
1. Puneett Chouksy in Sirf Tum
Sirf Tum is a college based love story of Ranveer and Suhani starring Vivian DSena and Eisha Singh in lead roles. The show has been quite popular since the start and is being loved by audience. But apart from Ranveer and Suhani, a character that is making impact in the show is Ansh. Ansh played by Puneett Chouksy is the main antagonist who is creating hurdles and wrecking havoc in the lives of the protagonists. But Puneett's portrayal has been such that people are liking Ansh's ways and also hating him at the same time.
2. Samriddh Bawa in Balika Vadhu 2
Second season of the popular social drama Balika Vadhu has three main characters Jigar , Anandi and Anand starring Samriddh Bawa, Shivangi Joshi and Randeep Rai respectively.
Jigar's character is a spoilt guy with a regressive thinking who doesn't give his wife Anandi the basic respect and disregards her. The character is such that it would arouse hate and despair in audience mind and Samriddh has been able to do that perfectly with his portrayal of Jigar in the show. He has been successful in making people dislike his character thus slaying his role as antagonist.
3. Karan V Grover in Udaariyaan
Udaariyaan is one of the most popular shows' currently on tv which started with three main characters Fateh,Jasmine and Tejo but recently a new character joined the show named Angad Maan played by Karan V Grover. While the character of Angad was initially positive and viewers were expecting him to become a pair with Tejo, as the show progressed the character took a complete turn. Angad's character off late has been a possessive and obsessive lover of Tejo who is trying to separate her from Fateh and Karan has been fabulous enough in his portrayal of this negative side of Angad. He has been able to pull off both the positive and the negative side of the character Angad meticulously.
5. Sudhanshu Pandey in Anupamaa
Anupamaa as a show needs no introduction.The show has been a rage since it's inception and so have been it's actors. Sudhanshu Pandey has been brilliant in his portrayal of a toxic and misogynist husband Vanraj on the show. He has successfully made people detest his character and has been equally convincing in portraying Vanraj's vulnerable side.He has won many appreciations as well for his performance.
